Unjust Termination - Statutory - Federally Regulated - Severance Pay

As previously indicated, employees terminated without just cause, who are federally regulated , are entitled to a guaranteed minimum payment of "Severance Pay" (which should not be confused with "Severance Pay" payable to employees who are not federally regulated, under the Employment Standards Act.)

Federally regulated employees terminated without just cause are entitled to Severance Pay calculated as follows:

(a) two days wages per completed year of employment, plus

(b) five days wages.

This is a minimum entitlement only. It is likely that a larger amount will be your entitlement, because you also have rights at common law . It is also possible you have a larger entitlement arising out of proceedings you may be able to bring for Reinstatement.
